Marking this thing took longer than chiseling out the knuckle joint, resawing each end, and cutting the ogees. This is a rough draft cut from crappy pine shelving, the real deal will be made from fancier wood.
The coolest thing about this project, a detail that is perhaps not obvious to every observer (especially since this individual stand was cut from a laminated board) is that this was cut from a solid board that was never separated - the reliefs chiseled away allow the two leaves to fold against eachother and unfold without separating freely. A true Roy Underhill parlor trick!
